Menus built from your recipes, costed before they go out

A menu here is not a list of dish names. It is your recipes, scaled to the guest count, with the food cost per head visible before you put a price in front of a client.

Menu planning: courses and dishes drawn from the recipe library, costed per head.

A menu without a cost is a guess

Most menu builders produce a pretty document. The number on it comes from the caterer's head, which is where margin goes to die — not because caterers are bad at pricing, but because a 200-cover menu has forty moving parts and nobody holds forty numbers in their head accurately.

What happens

  1. Pick the event. The headcount and dietary notes come with it.
  2. Draw from your library. Dishes are your own recipes, with their own costs.
  3. Scale to the count. Quantities and costs move together.
  4. See cost per head before a price is set, so the margin is a decision rather than a surprise.
  5. Generate where the library is thin. A new dish is written in your kitchen's own style, from your ingredients, rather than borrowed from a stock cookbook.

Dietary flags are checked, not trusted

A dish carrying a "vegan" flag is checked against its own ingredient list. Where the flag and the ingredients disagree, the conflict is surfaced rather than repeated — a flag is somebody's assertion about a dish, and the ingredients are what the dish actually is. Where allergens have never been recorded, it says so instead of implying there are none.

Questions people ask

Does it use my recipes or generic ones?

Yours. Dishes are drawn from your recipe library with your costs. Where the library is thin it writes a new dish in your kitchen's style rather than importing a stock recipe.

Can I see the cost per head before I quote?

Yes — food cost per head and the total are shown as the menu is built, before any price goes to a client.

How are dietary requirements handled?

Flags are checked against the dish's own ingredients, and conflicts are surfaced rather than repeated. Where allergens have not been recorded, it says so rather than implying a dish is free of them.
