An AI agent for caterers, and a straight list of what it does
"AI for caterers" is now on every vendor's homepage, which makes it useless as information. So here is the specific list: the jobs this agent finishes, the jobs it only assists with, and the jobs it does not touch. Judge it against whatever else you are looking at.
Jobs it finishes
- Answers a website enquiry. Date, venue, guest count, service style, dietary needs — asked and captured the moment the enquiry lands, at two in the morning included, with the lead and the full conversation arriving in your pipeline.
- Costs a menu from your recipes. Your ingredients, your supplier prices, scaled to the guest count, with the margin showing.
- Drafts the quote and the proposal. Priced from that menu, written against the brief.
- Drafts the invoice. From the event, with the deposit schedule, and chases it when it goes overdue.
- Reads supplier invoices. Supplier, date, line items, totals, matched to what you ordered.
- Reads recipes out of PDFs. Into structured, costable recipes with ingredients matched across your library.
- Builds the event task list. Including the prep that has to happen the day before.
- Builds the shopping list. From the events you actually have booked, net of what is in stock.
- Answers questions about your business. "Who still owes us money?" returns the unpaid list by client. "How does next week look?" returns next week.
- Builds your business page. If you have no website, it writes one from your own words plus your menus and photos, with the enquiry chat built in.
Jobs it assists with but does not own
Pricing strategy, client relationships, menu creativity, hiring, and anything requiring you to have tasted the food. It will give you the numbers to decide with. It does not decide.
Jobs it does not do
As of October 2026: no SMS, no WhatsApp, no outbound phone calls. An AI voice agent is planned as a paid add-on and is not live. If a vendor is telling you their AI cold-calls your leads today, ask them to demo it on a real number.
How to tell a real agent from a chat box
Four questions that separate them, useful on any vendor including us.
- Does a job finish, or do I get a summary? A summary of your inbox is not an answered enquiry.
- Does it work from my data or generic data? A menu costed from a generic ingredient database tells you nothing about your margin.
- Does it work when I am not logged in? The enquiry arrives at midnight either way.
- What does it do when it is unsure? Anything that would send money or email on a guess is worse than nothing.
You stay in charge
Worth saying once: it drafts and it digs, you make the calls, and nothing that sends money or email goes out on its own.

Questions people ask
What can an AI agent actually do for a catering business?
Finish the repeatable admin: answer the enquiry, cost the menu from your recipes, draft the quote and the invoice, chase the payment, read supplier invoices and recipe PDFs, build the event task list and shopping list, and answer questions about your own numbers.
Will it email clients without me?
No. It drafts; anything that sends email or money waits for you.
Does it make phone calls or send texts?
Not as of October 2026. SMS, WhatsApp and the AI voice agent are planned, not live. We would rather you read that here than find out in week two.
Is this different from the AI features other catering platforms added?
The test worth applying is whether a job finishes end to end from your own data, or whether you get a summary and still do the typing. Apply it to us too.
What does it cost?
It is not a separate add-on. The agent is the product: $99/mo for one seat or $149/mo for three, with every feature on both plans.
Ten minutes gets a real event in — your menu, your prices, a quote you could send. The 14-day trial takes no credit card.
